I am grateful my friend is ok and still kicking. And grateful one of my favourite writers is writing. Did I mention it's the same person?

Awww Lily. Thank you, for both. I'm reasonably pleased to still feel my heart beating.

Well Jo, I think most responders have said something similar to my thoughts. Apart from... It's kind of comforting to know that ER is the same wherever you are!

I suppose so. ERs are among the great equalizers of life, no?

So glad you're okay! A scary experience, no doubt. I had a similar one several years ago and all I could think about was 1) I'd better finish my book before, you know . . . and 2) All the stories I could write about this place. It confirmed my suspicions--that's what writers do. Stay well.

Ah! So intereresting to hear this, Harriet, and I'm also glad you're okay. Is it funny/strange that our thoughts turn to our passions at such times? It seems we cannot help it.

"Good thing stress does not cause problems when held in our bodies, am I right?" Um, yah. Would be so much easier if the universe would stop throwing sh*t at the fan, no? Glad you're okay; heart still beating is good. Stay well/ safe/ creative. I know you're covered in this department, but chirp up if ever an [extra] ear or shoulder would be helpful.

This is a well timed story Joanne. I have always doubted my ability to write and never more than now. Creativity is slow in coming partly because I resist the urge to write.

Your hospital story is one I am intimately familiar with having been and RN for decades and then as a patient off and on for years for various issues. An ER can be a very educational experience on the human condition and spark the storyteller in any of us to see what others might not. Each individual has a story untold.

I am very glad that you are all right. But stress can wreak havoc on the soundest person. I'm glad you didn't try to ignore it.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing, Wendy. It's an important topic, imho. Sometimes we don't realize how close we are to the end of the rope, and our bodies sound alarms, no?

Also thanks for that last bit. I wanted to ignore it but they wouldn't let me in this case. Probably was for the best.

Good thing it only took an ER visit... It took a friend dying to remind me. Whatever it is, do it now, time is not going in reverse!

I am SO sorry for your loss, Wyatt. To be honest, a friend of ours passed a month ago too, and re-reminded me to carpe diem, even as I grieve. He was too young and did not have to die, imho. Tragic. So yes, do it now!

Yep. thank you! I am sorry for your loss too. :( Both your friend and mine, way too young.

But its a reminder. No one will put “good corporate drone” on anyone’s headstone, lol.
